In my series titled Hidden Gems, I would like to introduce you to Cate the owner of  Ricks Chicks Boutique!!

Cate would you share with my readers a little bit about yourself and your Etsy shop.

I’m Cate Ricks, the owner of RicksChicksBoutique. I live in Greenville, North Carolina, just a few miles from East Carolina University. My shop currently features scarves, with plans on adding crocheted hair bows and headbands. I opened my shop after feedback I got from friends and family, as well as people I had sold scarves to locally.

What first got you interested in your craft…..

At first I was interested in ruffle scarves, I got excited and bought a bunch of yarn but to be honest it wasn’t really my thing. I was looking for something more my style to do with all the yarn I had bought and fell in love with crocheted infinity chain scarves! I then expanded to arm knit cowls and scarves, and discovered Dash (which is amazing) I’ve only been crocheting for a few months, so I’m always looking into new projects and am excited to expand my business. I want to make things that I want to wear.

Apart from creating things, what do you do…..

I play guitar in my church’s praise and worship team, and occasionally play and sing special music during the offering. I enjoy going to Walt Disney World, reading, and wasting time on Pinterest. I’m also a Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Supernatural, Sherlock, and Disney geek 🙂
