In my series titled Hidden Gems I would like to introduce you to Tamara the owner of Play it Again Glam!!
Tamara said, Once upon a year’s ago…. while remodeling a fantastic Mid-century home, I began rescuing vintage bobbles and clothing. As each room developed (themed by “decade”), I soon discovered that my passion for rescuing would be limited by my actual “space for acquiring”. To that end, I count myself lucky to set up shop here and bring these vintage beauties before you to be considered for adoption. Thank you for caring.

Tamara would you share with my readers a little bit about yourself and your Etsy shop.
I’m a Wife, Mom of 6, new grandmother of 1 and LOVING it!
I opened an Etsy shop last month as a new avenue for working from home and bringing in additional income. I’ve been selling vintage collectibles, clothing, dishes, etc. for several years now, locally at an antique shop, and on another online selling site. While I love to collect MANY vintage items, from clothing to dishes to decor…the truth is I absolutely adore vintage lingerie. The first time I saw the intricate detail of a vintage slip, and felt the luxurious softness of the fabric, I was hooked! The quality of these items is over the top. They are glorious!
Moving forward, I’m excited to streamline my efforts and focus almost exclusively on selling vintage lingerie. I started experimenting with dying the lingerie, and love the results.
I dye it in a large pot on my kitchen stove. The dye can revive pieces that might have been discarded due to stains or yellowing from age. It can also breathe new life into something that was in all honesty, a bit plain before the dye bath. While many vintage slips were produced in gorgeous factory colors, the majority by far were a simple Ivory, Beige or White. I love that something meant to be worn “hidden” can be transformed into pieces that can be worn “out” as a skirt or a cute dress. The full slips are adorable with tights and a little sweater…or with flip-flops in the summer. Or, they make beautiful “nightgowns” to be worn at home. I am thankful to have found a way to encourage “re-using” instead of discarding.
Apart from creating things, what do you do…..
Other things I enjoy when I’m not “working” on lingerie:
Spending time with my husband and family. Teaching/doing yoga. Gardening. Working puzzles. Cooking.
